Round 1
Match 1 – Gloves of Pain - Casanova Valentine vs BC Killer
Various gloves with thumbtacks and barbed wire that come into play almost immediately. Commentary has a weird echo as if one of them is announcing through the ring mic and the other isn't. Lots of outside brawling as is to be expected from two big guys. It's a decent brawl though, that unfortunately gets interrupted by several people running in against BC Killer. Valentine advances after forcing Killer to submit with a blade in his mouth.

Match 2 – Guns'n'Roses - Lazarus vs. Homeless Jimmy
The match starts off with actual wrestling – and rose petals as the only visible 'weapon' in the ring. When they go outside, Jimmy finds some barbed wire, but it looks like the weapons all come from his cart. A staple gun – maybe this is the gun from the match title? - sees much use, as do barbed wire and thumbtack bats. After a long outside brawl, they return to the ring and Jimmy sends Lazarus into a pile of thorny roses and forces a submission. Homeless Jimmy retains and moves on to round 2. More entertaining than the first match although it wasn't all that different.

Match 3 – (unsure, presumably FBTW) - Mad Man Pondo vs. Carnage
Why is Pondo in St. Claire's MAGA faction? What did I miss? Did she mix him up with Necro? How weird. I don't like it. A major reason I don't follow XPW is that they keep shoving US politics in my face. Anyway. Carnage is the mystery opponent, making his return after almost 5 years of absence. He's welcomed back by Pondo placing lighttubes on him and smashing them with a bowling ball. After some back and forth over a lighttube cross, which Carnage goes through, Pondo gets a knife and stabs Carnage in the side, followed by uninspired forehead carving. There are also gusset plates in the mix, as well as Pondo's sawblade stick and STOP sign.
The brawl goes to the outside and it's fairly one-sided, with Pondo dominating and Carnage offering little resistance. It continues with Pondo suplexing a merch table onto Carnage, then St. Claire gets involved and hits Carnage with a kendo stick. Pondo sets various weapons on fire, with moderate success, then pours salt over Carnage before setting up a door between chairs in the ring which also gets set on fire. Carnage then slams Pondo through it and wins. What the hell. He had about zero offense. I expected him to advance because CCW, but this match was just a mess, start to finish. Pondo tells the crowd to chant Carnage's name. Maybe he should have let him do something other than taking a beating for 9 mins straight instead. As it was, the fans had little reason to get behind Carnage.
Video. Hype video for Michael Krueger vs JD Horror re-match. Say no more. You had me at 'JD Horror'.
Match 4 – Under The Crimson Sea II – Michael Krueger vs. JD Horror
JD Horror is the only person allowed to use fishhooks because he elevated it to an artform; source: me. After an opening lighttube ambush from Krueger, JD Horror takes a German Suplex onto a barbed wire pool board, then bats get involved. It's a fast and furious start and they keep up the pace and relative balance. Outside the ring, it is finally revealed what the kiddie pool contains; thumbtacks and broken glass. Back in the ring, they use a shark pool toy – no barbed wire or anything – and I love me some humor in a deathmatch. Krueger gets hold of a claw-glove and introduces salt into the match. It's a delightful back and forth – until JD Horror brings out a fishhook-weedwhacker. I give points for creativity, but power tools are just so Instagram. Krueger goes after JD's valet Giggles, but gets caught off guard by JD throwing him off the top rope into the glass pool. Fishhooks, both loose and on a bat, make a last minute appearance, and JD wins after sticking fishhooks into Krueger's throat, then mowing him down with a beautiful lariat. Onto a fishhook bat still stuck to Krueger's back. I can only repeat myself: He's an artist.
Intermission, recap first round
The first match was basically every Casanova Valentine match ever, complete with a random spot on the bar counter. I have yet to see a wrestling show and think 'man, this would be so much better if there was no ring', so it's hard to get excited about his 'no-ring deathmatch' specialty. The match was alright, but nothing more. The second match offered more variety, and somewhat surprisingly, it was not every Homeless Jimmy match ever. Namely, it lacked the obligatory shopping cart spot. I like those because they always look brutal, but I'm hopeful they are just saving up the cart for the next round. The third match was a mess. I have no idea why Pondo is managed by St. Claire and part of her MAGA faction which is otherwise not present. It seemed very random - trying too hard to make Pondo the heel against the returning hometown hero. It felt out of place. The match itself was unfortunately not good at all. Way, way too one-sided, and although Carnage's victory wasn't a surprise, I'm just not buying the 'underdog victory' from a guy bigger than Pondo. Not only because of that, Horror vs. Krueger is the clear standout of round 1. While I think power tools are the anti-thesis of everything that makes for a good spot, weedwhackers are the most tolerable and least stupid. They also kept it brief, so it didn't interrupt the flow of the otherwise fast-paced, all out war, and it ultimately didn't detract from the match.

CC Tag Team Title Match - The Devil's Brigade vs. Smoke Signals
This isn't a deathmatch or part of the tournament, so I'll keep it brief. I like non-tournament matches, just for variety. It's a decent, albeit somewhat chaotic match with interference from BC Killer that results in a title change.
Round 2
Match 1 – Supreme Violence - Homeless Jimmy vs. Casanova Valentine
Hard to tell which of them looks more homeless. They have lighttubes, a door, and a shower door glass inlay. It starts off with Jimmy getting suplexed through the door and glass within a minute. Valentine introduces a cultivator. Jimmy ends Valentine's dominant start with the shopping cart. Lots of outside brawling again; the two suplexes remain the only wrestling moves. The way to the bar ends in a slugfest this time, but how long can Valentine resist the temptation? He shows amazing restraint by going for the shopping cart instead of the counter and puts it in the ring – after throwing Jimmy's weapons on the floor. Rude. Presumably in an act of revenge, Jimmy treats Valentine to the obligatory shopping cart spot, and thereby retains and advances to the finale.
Match 2 – Taipei & Cinderblocks – JD Horror vs. Carnage
JD's knee is bandaged and he draws a lot of attention to it. They start off with jabs and punches for a good while, then JD attempts a bodyslam and is hindered by his injured leg. Carnage keeps attacking the knee, first with kicks, then with a cinderblock. It's nice to see a clear strategy, and I'm glad Carnage isn't as painfully passive as before. JD surprisingly sends him through a pane of glass that I swear wasn't there a moment before, then sets up cinderblocks in the center and repays the favor by smashing Carnage's knee onto them. It's a knee vs. knee battle now, but JD dominates on the 'who sells it better' front. Lemon juice comes into play; Carnage sets his fist on fire, floors JD, and advances to round 2. Much better showing from Carnage than in the first round, and I liked the 'even the odds' approach to this match.
Non-Tournament Match - Su Yung vs. Sage Sin Supreme
Again, I'll keep it brief. Good match, but frankly much too long for a non-tournament match. Nice outside brawl with some weapon use, plenty of chairs in the ring. Su Yung wins after waiting 10 years for this re-match. This should have been saved up as a main event for another event.
Final – Carnage vs. Homeless Jimmy
Lots of fun weapons in the ring; thumbtack cupcakes, mouse traps, lighttube & barbed wire pallets, other contraption, and a fresh shopping cart. Both enter with bandaged heads. It's a furious start with Carnage going into the barbed wire lighttube pallets, then it slows down outside of the ring. Jimmy takes quite a lot of punishment, including a lighttube fan that Carnage uses vertically which I really liked. The shopping cart finds its way into the ring once again, and Jimmy wakes up from his daze when he follows. He goes for a DDT, but Carnage counters, slams Jimmy onto the cart, and thereby wins both the tournament and the CCW Supreme Violence title.
After long speeches to pay tribute to Supreme (in whose honor the tournament was held, if the name didn't make that clear), Carnage joins The Devil's Brigade, but I'm not up to date regarding the implications of that.
Recap, final thoughts
The second round had two decent, but not stellar matches. They were different enough to be interesting, however, I think that the entire tournament – including the finale – had too much random outside brawling. Maybe I'm weird, but I actually like matches that mostly take place in the ring, especially when there's nothing interesting to be done outside (no scaffold, balcony, or pillow forts that don't fit in the ring). It just makes matches feel too similar, so I have to credit JD Horror and Carnage for doing something different in round 2. The finale was fine and had everything I expected – the shopping cart spot, and Carnage coming out on top. In a way, it was telegraphed from miles away because of his history with Supreme, and I have no issue with that. I still think his first round match with Pondo was just weird though. All things considered, a solid tournament. The standout match remains JD Horror vs. Michael Krueger, followed by Su Yung vs. Sage Sin Supreme.
